Acqua Bella was recently announced as the winner of the Home Builders Association of SC Pinnacle Award for the best new home in the $5-7.5 million category. This custom design + build home is 6,989 square-feet, and features 4 bedrooms and 6.5 bathrooms. The interior design of the home was performed by Lauren Heather Design Studio and the cabinets were designed and made by Nicholas James Fine Woodworking.
This handcrafted, Old World style estate is a charming and elegant home on beautiful Lake Keowee. From the outside, the Ludowici roof with copper details gives the house a classic, traditional European feel. The stonework of the façade is crowned by iron details that lead to formidable iron front doors.
As you enter the home, the great room greets you with its stunning hammer trusses, grand timber beams, and incredible stonework. The stonework and timber beams continue through the house, along with refined details such as stained trim, circular movements, archways, and groin vaults throughout the home, giving it a distinguished, old-world feel. Each room features intricate ceiling details and design as well as elegant use of interior design. The incredible kitchen features two islands, giving ample space for preparing food or enjoying a casual meal.
On the upper level, an observatory with a telescope slides onto a classic Italian-inspired balcony, allowing the residents to enjoy their hobby of observing the stars. On the lower level, this is reflected in the ceiling of the media room, which features a ceiling that replicates the visible stars of the night sky.
As you exit the lower-level living area, you are greeted by an outdoor seating area that features a pizza oven, grilling station, and access to the indoor/outdoor bar. There is also a spa/pool area with fireplace seating. Around the pool are stone balustrades that pay homage to the home’s old-world influence.
